My Rating:

I think this is a cute story.
It starts off telling us colors of different animals and how animals have their own color.
Then we meet the chameleon. And learn that they change colors a lot.
But this chameleon decides that he wants to be his own color too. (Basically he doesn't like the fact that he changes colors based on his surroundings.)
So he decides to chill on a leaf so he can remain green.
But he doesn't take into account that colors of leaves change with the seasons. So he changes too.
And he becomes sad.
He then comes across another chameleon and is told about how no matter what they do, they will always change colors.
But this chameleon says that they could stay together, and they will then be able to change colors together.
And they do.

I think it a cute story about a chameleon who is trying to make sense of himself and wants to find a way to be the color he wants. I feel that it shows that the color you are, doesn't make up who you are. I also feel that it shows that it is okay to be different. Also, you don't have to go through life alone. I liked that the chameleon was able to find friendship and they could share being different together.

I like the illustrations as well. The chameleon is cute and I like the colors look like watercolors.

I would recommend this book to younger kids.
